I am proud to share that last week, I was part of the jury committee for the final proof projects, of the Bachelor UX/UI students at Karel de Grote-Hogeschool in Antwerp. In this committee were a selection of people from the field of UX. Ashley Noben, Tine Lavrysen, Elise Ulens, Koen Geerinckx, Fé Van de Vyver, Krisje Verbert. Thank you Karla Van den Brande, Sam Serrien, Bram Verdyck, Jürgen Tanghe to give me the opportunity, to participate in this jury. Not only was it wonderful to see the work done by all the students but also meet and catch up with collegues from other agencies. I was really nice to see what frameworks are taught to students, what they can research, design & create in Figma in only three months while they doing their internship. And how they presented their work. All final proofs were different and all originated from a field, they have great empathy with. They varied from a darts app, horse stable app, soccer stadium glasses app, an app for neurodivergent kids and food-vitamine/mineral intake app for sport fanatics. They all have the mindset to research for, what users need or lack in the current environment and create a digital solution, aiming to solve those issues "in the real world". They were bridging gaps, by creating easier or smoother experiences in daily life (or sporting events) for themselves and others on digital devices. A "do-good" mindset that they will take with them for the rest of their career. Proud to have put in my 2 cents.

Yes I totally feel you! At 40 I thought noone was older in the industry and left, worked a few years on the client side, very valuable as well, but came back at 50 and love it. A team rich with people all ages works very well and as long as there is mutual respect and appreciation. Key values in communication in all forms.

Really enjoyed this event by these very inspiring individuals. The talks were very interesting, new seeds were planted and old friendships updated. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you! Grateful for the opportunity to be there.

Thank you for a really inspiring Saturday. I very much appreciate all your efforts. Location setting and especially the talks and people there were very insightful. I really enjoyed seeing a lot of the people I had not seen in a while and having an update chat with. With the seeds from the talks, I will dive deeper again into learning more and letting those plants bloom. Thank you so much.

Zo leuk! Ik ben opgegroeid in Breda en bij de bezoekjes aan mijn oma in Tilburg (die de laatst overlevende was) keek ik altijd vol bewondering naar de “spatel techniek”. Deze had ik tijdens mijn opleiding aan de kunstacademie niet onder de knie gekregen. Ze had deze op een prominente plek in haar appartementje hangen. Mijn oom heeft het na haar overlijden geërfd.
